THE COMPANY

Founded in 1959 as a laboratory for the production of distillates and liqueurs, Elenka soon shifted its production focus to semi-finished products for gelaterias. This change was driven by the success of a product initially intended for the alcohol sector, which quickly became an iconic gelato flavor: the Finest Extract of Zuppa Inglese, better known as Zuppa Inglese. The founder, Antonino Galvagno, demonstrated intuition, tenacity, and dedication, which led to many subsequent successes. Notably, the creation of balanced bases for gelato, such as Dariloi, facilitated the expansion to the current large-scale production facility in Partanna Mondello (PA).

Innovative roasting and processing systems for premium raw materials, such as Italian hazelnuts and Etna pistachios, resulted in the award-winning La Nocciola and Pistacchio OroVerde® pastes. Products inspired by Sicilian specialties, like the Cassata Siciliana paste and the more recent Nero Modicano with Modica chocolate I.G.P., have garnered significant acclaim. Simultaneously, the pastry sector has also seen important successes.

Today, Elenka exports to over 40 countries across all continents while preserving its artisanal character and innovative spirit. The company focuses on valuing Sicilian and Italian territories and embracing sustainability with new lines of natural origin products, aiming to meet contemporary market challenges.

ELENKA FOR THE FESTINO: "ROSALIA. IL GUSTO DELLA FESTA" PROJECT

"Rosalia - The Taste of the Festival" is an artisanal gelato that combines local ingredients in a symphony of flavors evoking the atmosphere and emotions of the Santa Rosalia Festino. This project stimulates creativity and innovation in the artisanal gelato sector, consistent with the company's commercial activity of providing products for gelaterias and pastry shops. For this occasion, the project offers a "product kit" to gelaterias, providing a unique product that tells a story and evokes emotions related to the festivity.

The "Rosalia - The Taste of the Festival" kit is designed to offer gelato makers a complete experience, facilitating the preparation of gelato that evokes the typical flavors and aromas of the Santa Rosalia festival. The flavors include cinnamon and jasmine, along with innovative tastes like "roses" and a red fruit crumble.

The individual ingredients for creating the flavor are packaged in a specially designed box personalized with symbolic elements of the festival.

Kit Components:

  • Pasta Cannella: Provides a warm, spicy note typical of celebrations.
  • Pasta Rose: An innovative flavor that adds a floral note, a symbolic element of the festival.
  • Pasta Gelsomino: Adds a delicate floral touch typical of Sicilian tradition, enhancing the rose aroma.
  • Crumble ai Frutti Rossi: A crunchy red fruit crumble to vary the gelato during extraction, adding crunchiness and a contrast of flavors.

The kit is a 30x30x30 cm box containing ingredients packaged in recyclable tin foil wraps.
