On display at the Pinacoteca di Villa Zito are some extraordinary masterpieces from the history of modern European art dedicated to the representation of the Patron Saint of Palermo. These works come from the Museo del Prado and the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, the Diocesan Archive of the Archdiocese of Malta, the Diocesan Museum of Palermo, and the Royal Palace of Palermo – Fondazione Federico II.
The initiative also sees the participation of the Municipality of Palermo.
The exhibition "The Ecstasies of Saint Rosalia. Antoon van Dyck, Pietro Novelli, Mattia Preti, Luca Giordano", curated by Maria Concetta Di Natale, is held on the occasion of the jubilee anniversary of 400 years since the discovery of the relics of Saint Rosalia.
The main sponsor of the exhibition is Banca del Fucino, the oldest private Roman bank. Founded in 1923 by Giovanni and Carlo Torlonia, it has established itself as one of the most important banking entities in Rome, maintaining its character as a local bank.
