Rosalia the Santuzza of Palermo
Città dei Ragazzi, 02/07/2024 - 06/07/2024
Theater Workshop by the Associazione Figli d’Arte Cuticchio directed by Mimmo Cuticchio.
Dedicated to Santa Rosalia, the patron saint of the city of Palermo, the practical workshop on Teatro dei Pupi will be conducted by Mimmo Cuticchio from July 2 to July 6 in the open spaces of the Città dei Ragazzi, in the Giardino del Marvuglia, within the Parco della Favorita, at the foot of Monte Pellegrino.
Drawing from stories and legends about the life of the saint, the workshop will focus on narration and staging with the traditional puppets.
The workshop will take place in the afternoon from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
Participants (max 20 people aged 18 and up) will be involved, under the supervision of Cuticchio and his collaborators, in the practice of storytelling and puppet manipulation, in a theatrical setup, a collective performance that will precede the cunto on Santa Rosalia, with which Mimmo Cuticchio will conclude the workshop on July 6.
It will be a grand spectacle, taking place in a space where the boundary between stage and audience will be abolished, allowing spectators to participate in a true collective creation.
The theatrical setup imagined by Cuticchio involves the participation of two groups: the group of performers, including the workshop participants, and the audience, composed of citizens.
Both the puppet show on Friday, July 5, and Cuticchio's cunto on Saturday, July 6, are open to the public.
